Mindjammer Press and The Design Mechanism announce “The Chronicles of Future Earth” for RuneQuest 6th edition
PRESS RELEASE
THE CHRONICLES OF FUTURE EARTH
RPG SETTING SOURCEBOOK
THE DESIGN MECHANISM AND MINDJAMMER PRESS ANNOUNCE “THE CHRONICLES OF FUTURE EARTH” FOR RUNEQUEST 6TH EDITION
“In the last centuries of the Fifth Cycliad, a great malaise began to descend on the lands of humankind. The great civilisations of Earth, which for aeons had seemed on the verge of slumber, now finally began to rot from within. From the edges of the world the ever-present enemies drew close, their hungry claws poised to tear apart the delicate flesh of a fruit a hundred millennia in the harvesting. And all around, a cry arose for heroes, to stand against the dying of the light and save the world from the sins of its past.
“Some said that it was the end of days. Some said that it was only the beginning. These pages tell the history of that time yet to come. These are the Chronicles of Future Earth.”
Mindjammer Press and The Design Mechanism are delighted to announce that The Chronicles of Future Earth science-fantasy roleplaying setting is back, in an all-new full-size hardback edition for the 6th edition of the RuneQuest game!
The Earth we know is gone, forgotten in the depths of time. In its place is a world of mystery and danger, steeped in a thousand centuries of history and legend, where humankind brushes shoulders with beings and creatures strange and monstrous. The Venerable Autocracy of Sakara, the greatest — and oldest — of the Springtide Civilisations, rules over half the world, led by an immortal God-Emperor whose very word is law. It’s a world of deep, dark forests, brooding mountains, timeworn ruins haunted with the ghosts of the past and the weird monsters of the future. Arcane sorcerers explore strange dimensions, terrible priests wield powers from godlike extradimensional intelligences, and mighty soldiers forge new histories from the ruins of the past. It’s a time of danger, reckoning, and adventure. Welcome to The Chronicles of Future Earth.
The Chronicles of Future Earth is a 296-page hardback supplement for the RuneQuest 6th edition game, detailing the cultures, peoples, and creatures of the Venerable Autocracy of Sakara, the oldest of the Springtide Civilisations. With extensive histories, maps, and background, rules for ancient treasures and technologies dug from the depths of the earth, and much more, The Chronicles of Future Earth is the first in a new line of RuneQuest supplements produced by Mindjammer Press, providing everything you need to adventure amid exotic civilisations and the ruins of an ancient past in the unimaginably distant future.
“I’ve been waiting to produce a full-size sourcebook for The Chronicles of Future Earth for several years,” said ENnie Award-winning RPG author Sarah Newton (Mindjammer, Monsters & Magic, Achtung! Cthulhu, Burn Shift, Legends of Anglerre), creator of the Chronicles. “RuneQuest 6th edition represents the cutting edge of the d100 system, and is a perfect ruleset for this new expanded edition. I’m really excited to see what the combined forces of RuneQuest 6 and The Chronicles of Future Earth can produce!”
Lawrence Whitaker, co-owner of The Design Mechanism, said: “We’re delighted that Mindjammer Press chose RuneQuest 6 as the engine for The Chronicles of Future Earth. It’s a wonderful setting and fits perfectly with the RuneQuest ethos. We are very much looking forward to seeing how Sarah and the Mindjammer Press team use the RuneQuest rules for Chronicles and are very happy to be working with them at long last.”
The Chronicles of Future Earth will be published by Mindjammer Press and distributed by Modiphius Entertainment Ltd. Scheduled for release Winter 2014/15. For further information on distribution and reviews please contact Modiphius Entertainment.

Mindjammer Press and Chronicle City announce the “Monsters & Magic” RPG
Have you got heaps of modules lying around, which you played and loved years ago and would like to use again? Tomes of spells, bestiaries full of terrifying monsters, languishing because the old rulebooks don’t have that zing you’re looking for these days? Then look no further!
Mindjammer Press and Chronicle City are very happy to announce their partnership to produce the print version of Monsters & Magic, an Old School Renaissance fantasy roleplaying game written by Sarah Newton (Mindjammer, Legends of Anglerre, Achtung! Cthulhu).
Monsters & Magic is a modern fantasy roleplaying game which mixes cutting edge rules mechanics and narrative techniques with traditional fantasy roleplaying concepts. Specifically designed to be used with classic fantasy supplements and adventures with little or no conversion, it allows players and GMs to pick up their favourite fantasy campaigns and characters and bring them to brilliant new life. It’s a game firmly in the “Old School Renaissance” spirit, and works seamlessly with classic fantasy products, new and old.
“This is a very exciting opportunity,” said Sarah Newton, co-owner of Mindjammer Press and author of Monsters & Magic. “Angus and I have worked together on many titles, including the ENnie-award winning Mindjammer, Legends of Anglerre, and Modiphius’ Achtung! Cthulhu. This deal is another step in our partnership, and allows us to bring the Monsters & Magic RPG and its line of supplements to a wide and discerning audience, using Chronicle City’s proven industry expertise and excellent track record. We’re looking forward to a regular release of Monsters & Magic products with Chronicle City, beginning with the core rulebook this May.”
“Sarah has produced fantastic work for a number of companies over the years and has great vision and ideas. I’m very pleased to be able to work with her again, and Mindjammer Press for the first time, to bring Monsters & Magic to print and retail stores, and look forward to renewing our collaboration on this and hopefully future projects,” added Angus Abranson, owner of Chronicle City Ltd.

Welcome to Mindjammer Press
Mindjammer returns! Welcome to Mindjammer Press, the new roleplaying and fiction imprint publishing the Mindjammer roleplaying game, the far future transhuman space opera setting, and associated fiction lines.
Mindjammer Press brings all the Mindjammer fiction and RPG products under a single umbrella, concentrating on the new second edition and its supplements, and future novels in the Mindjammer series. We’re looking forwards to a regular release of products to support the Mindjammer setting and community, beginning right now with a re-launch of ‘Mindjammer’, the first novel in the series.
In addition to the immediate release of the Mindjammer novel, Mindjammer Press is developing Mindjammer: The Expansionary Era, the second edition Mindjammer core book, for publication in spring 2013. The new edition will see vastly expanded content, new and detailed background material, and all new artwork, and will be fully compatible with the FATE 3 Core rules. It will be followed later in 2013 by the Solenine campaign pack, based on the setting for the first novel, a new and revamped Black Zone campaign, and Transcendence, the second novel in the Mindjammer series. We anticipate 3-4 releases per year thereafter.
With the imminent launch of the FATE 3 Core rules, we can’t think of a better time to produce the second edition of Mindjammer. We’re looking forwards to providing Mindjammer fans with an expanding line of transhuman space opera adventures, supplements, and fiction.
Mindjammer: the transhuman adventure continues. We hope you’ll join us.
