Mindjammer Press and Deadcrows Studio announce translation agreements for French-language MINDJAMMER and English-language CAPHARNAUM roleplaying games

20th May 2016—Mindjammer Press and Deadcrows Studio are delighted to announce their agreements to translate the CAPHARNAUM and MINDJAMMER roleplaying games into English and French respectively.

“The Capharnaum—The Mark of the Dragon RPG line is an absolutely beautiful series of game books focussed on an Arabian Nights-inspired setting with strong elements of ancient worlds mysteries, Crusades, and a Mediterranean fantasy ethos which I’ve loved for many years,” said Sarah Newton, director of Mindjammer Press (Mindjammer, The Chronicles of Future Earth, Monsters & Magic, Burn Shift, Achtung! Cthulhu). “It has the depth, detail, and sophisticated world-building which I love and which fans have come to expect from Mindjammer Press, and I’m proud to have this wonderful opportunity to bring the whole series to English-speaking gamers everywhere. At the same time, after our successful Mindjammer Kickstarter last December, it’s very exciting to have signed our first translation agreement to enable the great people at Deadcrows Studio to bring the Mindjammer RPG and fiction range to the French market. We’re looking forward to a very fertile and productive working relationship!”

“The Mindjammer roleplaying game is a pure transhumanist Space Opera offering unique and unusual adventuring opportunities, mixing exploration, discovery, intrigue, technology, cultural conflict, and epic combat. The richness of the Mindjammer setting opens infinite perspectives,” said Francois Cedelle of Deadcrows Studio (Capharnaum, Venzia, AmnesYa 2K51). “But it’s also a toolbox, permitting GMs to create and manage cultures, civilisations, planets, starships, and more. It contains everything you need to develop exciting and compelling scenarios in a coherent universe—and all driven by the fantastic FATE system.”

Mindjammer is already a magnificent game line, with a very complete core rulebook and a rich and beautifully illustrated line of supplements,” added Deadcrows Studio’s Stephan Barat. “We’re therefore particularly proud to announce that Mindjammer will be our first translated RPG, and we’re over the moon at the idea of working together with Sarah Newton and the whole Mindjammer Press team!”

Deadcrows Studio will be launching a crowdfunding campaign for the French-language version of Mindjammer in 2016, for publication in 2017. Mindjammer Press expects to release the Capharnaum RPG core book in early 2017, with a range of supplements to follow in 2017 and 2018.
