Set in the far, far future of our own planet Earth, on a world grown strange with time, adventure in the Venerable Autocracy of Sakara, oldest of the Springtide Civilisations, a land of demons and sorcery, mouldering ruins and perilous ancient technologies, monsters and mysterious dimensions.

In the last centuries of the Fifth Cycliad, a great malaise began to descend on the lands of humankind. As a book, Capharnaum is a gorgeous artefact – beautiful and evocative artwork, and a profound and fascinating setting that riffs off historical and mythic themes to create a compelling game world. It also has a custom system which really hits our sweet spot: simple, elegant, and quick to learn, it’s also extremely flexible in play, and allows for some real depth with increasing system mastery. It’s been a sparkling gem on the French RPG scene for ten years, and has recently celebrated its decade with a second edition, and Mindjammer Press is proud to have the opportunity to bring it to an English-language audience.

In Capharnaum, you’ll find a fantasy Middle Sea surrounded by lands and empires reminiscent of mythical and historical ones of our own world, from ancient Agalanthia, a little like ancient Greece or Rome, through a Hispanic Aragon and its new Quarterian religion, the Shiradim of Capharnaum, and the Arabian-like Saabi. ADVENTURE IN THE RUINS OF AN ALIEN WORLD

Blue. A beautiful yet alien world. Until six hundred years ago it was the home of an unimaginably advanced alien species, poised in splendid isolation on the brink of transcendence, refusing even to communicate with the lesser intelligences which had colonised its planetary twin.
